Ready to do what you love? Join our team at Ciao as a Chef de Partie.

Located on the Brisbane River at the iconic Howard Smith Wharves, Ciao is a vibrant 200-seat restaurant celebrating modern Italian cuisine. We pride ourselves on crafting fresh pasta in-house, cooking premium produce over an ironbark charcoal grill, and creating memorable dining experiences with seasonal Australian ingredients.

We're looking for a passionate Chef de Partie to join our talented kitchen team. If you're ready to take ownership of your section, refine your skills in Italian cuisine, and work alongside experienced chefs who are passionate about their craft, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Chef de Partie, you'll play an integral role in delivering exceptional food and maintaining the high standards Ciao is known for. You'll take ownership of your section, work with premium ingredients, and contribute to every service with consistency, pride and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Running your section with confidence and consistency.
  • Working across pasta production, pasta service, grill or cold larder.
  • Preparing and presenting dishes to the highest standard.
  • Maintaining exceptional mise en place and service readiness.
  • Following food safety and WHS procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider kitchen team during busy service.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior chefs where required.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Experience working on a pasta section or charcoal grill (experience in both is highly regarded).
  • A genuine passion for Italian cuisine and quality produce.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to continue learning.

Why you’ll love working for us?

  • Join a collaborative, inclusive, and high-energy culture
  • 25% team discount precinct wide for you and 3 guests
  • Access to a range of wellbeing initiatives including yoga, run club, and confidential employee assistance programs
  • Develop your career with a growing group that will invest in you and your development
  • An extra week of annual leave after 5 years of service
